Mapping tip
Payable export column names: a practical cheat sheet
When you map a payable export into a supplier statement, field names rarely match one-to-one across products. Below are starting-point labels mirrored from Statemint’s built-in Xero and QuickBooks Online (QBO) guess templates — helpers for first-time mapping, not a survey of every export in the wild. Exports vary by report, region and custom fields; always confirm against your own header row.

What to watch for
- One signed amount column. Some exports put bills and payments in a single signed Amount field. In Statemint, map that column to both debit and credit — the sign decides the side.
-
Date format. Xero orgs often use
DD/MM/YYYY; US QBO files often useMM/DD/YYYY. Pick the format explicitly in the mapper — ambiguous dates are never guessed. - Contact vs Vendor spelling. Same person, different label. If both sides of a reconciliation use different spellings of the supplier name, lines will not pair until the names match.
- Prefer transaction / bill detail over aged summaries. Aged Payables summaries lack chronological payment lines; use a transaction, bill, or vendor detail export when you need a running-balance statement.
Where this tip comes from
The column names above mirror Statemint's built-in Xero and QuickBooks guess templates (descriptive labels only — Xero® and QuickBooks® are trademarks of their respective owners; Statemint is not affiliated). They are starting points for first-time mapping, not a guarantee that every export from every region will match. If your headers differ, map manually once; Statemint remembers the mapping by header signature for the next file with the same layout.
